Well, this is me…
Teddy Storris
My full name is Theadora, but, since that’s a big lengthy, people usually call me Teddy. I was born at the beginning of this century in the Netherlands, but I spent much of my youth in Ireland. As a result, I am bilingual and stand with one leg in two different cultures.
Since my parents are both Dutch — and my mum is a practising wise woman who’s made sure we know our magical history — I grew up on the tales of the Low Lands. My work as an artist is heavily influenced by these roots and my interest in history, mythology and local fairy tales. You’ll find plenty of magic and myths in my creations! My love of nature plays another major part in my life and therefore my art.
I enjoy using different materials and challenging myself to discover new techniques all the time. I also thrive on being in nature. And, although I love visiting musea and art galleries, I don’t do well in hectic environments. Quiet and isolated is more my cuppa. Awe-inspiring and sometimes even desolate also works for me.
Through my work, I hope to bring back some magic into people’s lives.
